So last month the highly anticipated annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was held in Las Vegas showcasing the latest and fanciest of high tech state of the art gadgets the consumer electronics industry has to offer!

Aside from the many amazing new technologies like actual working self-driving cars and the latest smartphones there’s also a couple of ‘those’ products that make you question the point of technology and life itself.

Well maybe not life itself, but there sure are some weird designs shown at the CES every year, and the 2016 edition is no different. That’s why we’ve picked 3 of the most ‘interesting’ (cough* werid *cough) designs out of the bunch and briefly explain what they’re all about.

Sensorwake

Yup, it’s a smart alarm that wakes yup at the right time with an integrated app and….smell? You can now choose to wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants, the smell of the ocean or simply some lovely flowers ;-)

The alarm will go on sale this summer for about 90 dollars and new ‘odor cartridges’ will be added throughout its life cycle!

3DRudder

Virtual Reality is great and stuff, but there’s a problem. If you start walking around in real life while exploring your virtual world you’ll eventually end up bumping into a wall or two.

Well not anymore with the 3D Rudder, a small platform that allows you to control characters in VR with your feet!

Tipron

And last but not least there’s your very own R2-D2 inspired robot with a built-in projection system.

It’ll follow you around the house and project your favorite video’s or cooking instruction right beside you on the wall. Why you ask? We don’t know, but at least it looks cool as hell!
